ARod BREAKS Joe DiMaggio's record for most Home Runs by a right handed hitting Yankee

Again one of those records where it's like comparing Apples to Oranges since the new Yankee Stadium has smaller dimensions BUT this record has stood close to 70 years (1937) and one could argue today's pitching is MUCH tougher overall with today's varied Relief Pitching specialists. Quite an acomplishment indeed for ARod. He is one of the best players off all time, and when all is said and done, he will probably break Hank Aaron's lifetime HR legitimately, by quite a bit I might add.

I think A-Rod is an all-time best, but Sheffield is not too shabby.

<<That was announced some time ago. I think he broke the record now. Sheffield tied the record previously, A-Rod broke the Sheffield-DiMaggio record.>>
Deut, no, you are thinking about tieing the record for most Home Runs at Yankee Stadium by a Right Handed Batter whicn he broke some time ago.
The record he tied yesterday was DiMiaggio's single season record for a Right Handed Batter which includes Road Games too. One more to break that record.

Fixed!
Edited to add:
You are so right!
Shanty-Townie, your reply in this thread makes no sense whatsoever. Too much overtime at Femur?
Varied relief specialist? -Crowd...."How varied are they"?? They are soo varied that half of them specialize in Home Runs allowed
Gosh, I crack myself up
Random thought....I am just wondering how many times the single season home record for a team will be broken and rebroken in this "tough" pitching climate of the past ten years. Isn't somebody knocking on the door this season?
Arod is great, and good job recognizing the difference in the stadium environement, but please remove that pitching is better today garbage. THat ruins some of your good points brought up.

You might be correct but what makes you such an authority? It is obvious from your other posts that you have done much research. This is a serious question: do we have a baseball book author among us?

Pot meet kettle
Femur
fe·mur ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fmr)
n. pl. fe·murs or fem·o·ra (fmr-)
A bone of the leg situated between the pelvis and knee in humans. It is the largest and strongest bone in the body.
A functionally similar bone in the leg or hind limb or a vertebrate animal. Also called thighbone.
The thick, most muscular segment of the insect leg, situated between the trochanter and the tibia.
There really isn't any money in writing baseball books now, nor is there any in research. The only money to make was on wagering and fantasy type leagues. There is some crossover to help those areas, but only a little. The rest of success in those things depends on a couple of other factors.
I do have two projects on the back burner though, and maybe in another lifetime(when things settle down) you will see something emerge from my research that you will be able to hold while taking a dump or something. They won't be lists of numbers either, but they will most definately have a very strong factual basis.

OBGYN-"WE HAVE AN ISSUE MRS. REPINMASS, seems your son has a 3rd Femur".
-Mrs. Repinmass "OH god...no!!!"
-Mr Repinmass "WAY TO GO SON!!!"
WTF did femur mean anyways??

Whatever it means, I spent overtime there...
I'm sure he'll respond with, "The astute reader would know what I was speaking of" with spelling mistakes and edits.
I know exactly what femur means. I love to use funny words just as I like to use Shanty-Townie. It has it's own special meaning to me. Ha ha funny. Ha ha funny.

Wow. You just made everyone that reads that post just a little dumber.
It is a done deal. ARod just hit his 47th Home Run and broke Joe D's Yankee record. ARod could very well be the first Yankee since Mantle and Maris in 1961 to hit 50 or more Home Runs.
