New Paypal spoof

Hey fellas recieved a new paypal spoof today, It looks just like a real Paypal payment invoice except it has a "Dispute Transaction" on the bottom. The interesting thing about this spoof is that you cannot copy it to report it. And when you click on the dispute transaction just for fun, a spyware software automatically loads on to your computer. If you don't have firewall it's hard to detect. I've reported it to Paypal, Don't click on Dispute Transaction, Delete this one if you get it.

These jerks are getting smarter.

Jery

Heres what it looks like, I print it out and rescanned it.

I just got a new email that I believe is an ebay spoof.

It claim that I have been invited to be a "Silver Powerseller". All I have to do is follow the link and provide info, etc etc. Thing is, I havent sold anything in the past 6 months so I am pretty sure that was a spoof and besides, a PS logo doesnt mean anything to 90% of the buyer anyway.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • Or an e-mail that reads: A new e-mail address has been added to your PayPal account . . . Just delete.

    as always,
all you need to look at is the salutation to know if it is a scam or not.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • I got the Powerseller email, it was spoof.

Just ignore all of them and find your messages under "my ebay".

Just received a "question from ebay member" via my regular e-mail, but under my ebay account it does not show that anyone has sent me a question. So it went into ye old trash bin.
  • I got three different spoofs today! These guys don't give up.

One was a question from a guy I've never done business with, one was "maintance and verification" and one was "security measures".

For the technology pros here, why can't email providers identify these if they're coming from an IP address that isn't from Ebay or Paypal? Why not scan all incoming emails for the words "Ebay", "paypal" and the like and flag those that don't address you by your first name or other obvious clues.

I use AOL and I thought they would have had this solved a long time ago. Guess not....
