Chinese Early Gold Coins

Hello guys,

anyone knows if there are Chinese gold coins before 1920?

If so, are these pieces expensive?

Thanks.

  • Very. There were gold taels and coins but NORMALLY, even verifying such gold "coins" are hard to do so. Clark Smith has some from time to time but they sell like hot cakes.

There are some very nice, very expensive gold coins from 1916 when Yuan Shikai declared himself emperor. The design is great but they are not easy to come by.

There is a member here that has one, as I recall.
  • Chinese gold coins are still much easier than trying to find pre-1920 Korean gold coin... trust me, those are exceeding rare and I think Sumnom can tell you more about it, especially the 20 won gold coin.

Yes, the 1905-1910 period Korean gold coins are feriously rare and expansive as well.
