Always regarded as the key date in mid range unc and up by trade dollar specialists, this 1873-CC just blew away all price records!

Pay no attention to Sunnywood. While we all desire original toned specimens, even I own several bust halves that are not entirely original--tough dates in high grade just do not come along very often.
Has this date in MS 63 or 64 traded(auction or private) in the last several years? If it's been more than 4 years, you can just about double what it brought WAY BACK WHEN.
BTW, I saw the 1796 half in NGC 64 on the Superior web site, for sale for $375,000. I had thought you guys has sniped that beauty.

ps: I am just kidding re Sunnywood. I pay him a lot of attention

Roadrunner: the Vermeule coin sold raw. You can rest assured that if it was certified gem at the time of the sale it would have easily been a 6 figure coin.
