This isn't the prettiest coin, but it's still a really rare date. My take is that this is a dug coin, buried obverse side up. The details are great, especially on the reverse, and that makes the corrosion even more the pity.
There are some fine scratches on both sides, and a longer one down Liberty's leg. Unlike in some images, I've intentionally adjusted the lighting to emphasize the state of the coin, including those scratches. The real coin looks better in my opinion.
In the last year, Heritage has sold three 1860-O's slabbed as VF details net F in the range of $1200-$1500 or so, and I think this looks better than any of them.
This is headed to ANACS next week -- unless someone wants to convince me to part with it sooner. Make an offer!
