Anyone here use Teletrade to obtain World coins?

I never gave Teletrade much thought because in addition to the 12% buyer's fee, I would have to pay the 8% NYS tax. Now I see they are in CA and don't collect NY tax.

Has anyone here used them to buy darkside coins? How easy is it to use? Would you recommend them?

Yes, they are easy to use. And, they will soon be offering lots of very cool World coins.....just in time for the Holidays.imageimage

They also ship quick, but be sure you view the coins wiht the dejaView or whatever, and like the looks of the coin as the return fee is a bit onerous. Also, their images are generally even worse than Heritage, so you can 'generally' expect a much nicer 'colour' and/or lustre on the coins.

I won one NGC slabbed Conder token from them a few months back. I was very happy with the token as well as their serivce as I had the token in hand only 3 days after the auction ended.

What Cos said too. If you pay by CC the night of the auction, they'll generally ship the next day, although I don't know why anyone would be excited to receive a Conder in the mail.image

I take a look now and then. Things generally go a bit too steeply for resale, so I've never bought anything world coin related. I have bought US material from them though. No problems with the service. The only problem, as has already been mentioned, are the atrocious photos. It makes it a dumping ground for a lot of US "Bluesheet Coins."

  • It's often a dumping ground.

But, despite that, my experiences have been positive. I haven't bought anything in quite a while, though. They just have no material that interests me.

I won a 10 and 20 Gold Zlotych (ANACS MS-63 & 64) a couple of weeks ago at what I thought was a very good price ($285) and with no shipping cost (Free in Sept)
  • Yes, I've occasionally gotten some nice middle-of-the-road US-Philippines coins, on Teletrade, and once got a very important one for about a fifth of its real worth.

    Enjoy!

Josh is right about the prices. For me, from a collector point of view, I don't really care about the resale prices though image I used them quite a bit for lightside and am constantly checking the darkside stuff they had. I haven't bid on any darkside with TT only because they haven't had what I wanted yet.

I've used Teletrade for buying only and I've been mostly very happy with their coins. Here's a recent offering of superb Swiss coins at very reasonable prices about a week ago. image

It seems to me, many of the ICG coins sell for a very good price (for buyers, that is).

I've never been able to find anything on Teletrade. Very few world coins (and even less in my area of interest). But my Wantlist is still active and I'm still hopeful.

Mac, can you give us a preview of what's in store??? image

I've bid on a few but never won any. Most weeks I have surfed there I have seen nothing of interest. I haven't been on their site for months now.

You know I have checked them out on occasion and never have found any Russian, at least decent Imperial Russian.

I dunno, maybe it is because of my selfimposed spending limits or because I buy cheaper coins, but I really have a hard time finding purchases on Teletrade.

I used to use Teletrade and have gotten some Darkside stuff there in the past, but this was pre-buyers' fee, and before I discovered eBay.
