Noticed this on Topps Football

Noticed on 78 Topps football and I think some other years that there is no team logo. Did Topps not have a certain lisence with the NFL in order to do this? IMO is sort of distracts from the card, just some generic looking helmet.

    Topps did not have the rights to reprint the team logos. I cant remember which year they got the license to do so, but think it was around 1981 or 1982
