I want to post a buy listing on Naxcom for a PSA graded card, but I am a bit nervous about not being able to see the card or the sellers feedback. Correct me if I am wrong. When is the money given to the seller? Is it before or after I receive the card? Have any of you had bad experiences? At least on Ebay you can have some comfort in a feedback rating. Let me know your tips/insights/experiences.
Thanks,
Dave

They don't have a feedback rating, but you can click on the "About this item/seller" and it will tell you their name, how many transactions they have had, disputes, location, etc. Also, if the item you are looking at has a pic of a camera, it should be an actual scan of their item. If it doesn't have a pic, email the seller and they will usually provide one.
I have bought a couple graded cards there and it was a pleasant easy experience. On one card the lowest "sell" offer was a bit more than I wanted to pay, so I posted a "buy" offer and within a couple days one of the sellers accepted my offer. I like that system. Some of the sell offers are so high as to make you laugh, but you can just ignore those. Since there is no up-front listing fee as on eBay, they have nothing to lose by asking for double SMR if they want.
I would be more leery of ungraded, because then the dispute would be about condition and that could get sticky. But that's true anywhere on the internet except for those trusted dealers like Mickey's and BBCE.
The only thing I would caution is that once you post a buy offer, don't forget about it! Suppose you offer $50 for some card that's selling for $60. If it suddenly becomes a $10 card (because the player got nailed on steroids, for example), your $50 offer is still there and will be jumped on by the first seller who is aware of the plunge in value. And if you buy the card elsewhere, you have to cancel your offer on NAXCOM if you don't want to be stuck with two. There is no changing your mind after the buy; the money is automatically transferred to the seller either from your NAXCOM balance or your credit card (which is required to post a buy offer if you don't have enough in your NAXCOM balance). You can kill your offer anytime before someone accepts it, however. You just have to be alert.
