Goldberg auction

I really wish they'd start on time. My lots are like 700 into the auction and I've got better things to do.

They are currently enjoying breakfast croissants and other pastries, drinking juice, coffee, and the like. You should be doing the same.......besides eBay LIVE will probably malfunction so you should have left proxy bids with someone on the floor......image

    GOOD LUCK!!

Edited to add: Remember that "live" bidding on ebay generally costs an additional 5% image

They are finishing up with lunch presently; most probably roast beef and chicken salad sandwiches, potato salad, garnish, chips for the non-calorically challenged image, and of course, various beverages, non of which are the adult variety.image

Ummmmm!! Time for key lime pie, and french apple torts.......image

Check the food!! they're off again......but alas, I must go make money instead of spend it.image
  • I think the prices so far have been above or below estimates. They were moving at a good clip until they hit British gold. image

Like a fool, I didn't sign up for live bid so I don't even know what my pieces brought, or if they've even gotten to them yet....image
  • Can't you sign up for live bid now? The catalog should also still be available today, with ended auctions reflecting the selling prices.

Crap...lovely...these are the "pristine" pieces I got from Lorich who wouldn't stand up for them after they were graded lower than he had them graded...I lost $1000 on each piece...beware Lorich!

I have a collection of about 15 city views...mostly German but a couple Swedish too...1500's up to 1800's. Nice sturdy Talers...perhaps a trade might be in the making? S

  • Crap Crap Crap. I was willing to go to $250 including juice for an 1806 Irish farthing NGC PF. I'd have had to go to $300 minimum and I'd suspect more. Oh well, some of the surface was bubbly anyway.image

Zero for one. Lot 2614, one of these coins that I've never been able to own yet, although it's been on my top ten list for a long time.

    imageimage

A super nice PCGS MS64 Pan Pac $1 ,an all time favourite design with the Canal worker, that sold for the price of a PQ MS65,that's almost double the price of its legit 64 grade !image The cataloguer's trick in the description worked out well.

  • I guess I outsmarted myself.image

I was so sure Lot 3059 would go for more than the estimate that I didn't bother entering the fray, and according to the Prices Realized listing it was "withdrawn, passed or combine" - in other words it could have been mine.imageimage
