I thought that it was kinda cool. The medal is the size of a silver dollar and has some big-time relief on the obv (sticks well above the rim). Don't know much about it otherwise.

"Ecole Nationale" is "national school".

"Jeunes Filles" is "young girls".

But what is "Dessin"?

Ah. I Babelfished it. Drawing.

Apparently it is something like "National School of Drawing (for) Young Girls".

Madamoiselle J. Locander apparently won the (Grand?) Prize for drawing "flowers according to nature". At the Annual Concourse of the (something) Section.


Now that's pretty neat.

Looks like 2nd prize, her name, and the date. Medal is Considered a "Marianne" I believe

Yeah, I was a little foggy on the abbreviation before "Prize".

What I thought was a "G" is apparently a "2".
