50's special in the mail!! updated with grades

This thread will be periodically updated.... when I am! Sent in 63 50's cards most for my 55 topps set, and the beginning s of 55 bowman set. 55 Bowman, why, I dont know. Anyways it was mailed last Thursday 10 AM registered mail. When I registered it, the asked me to state the value of the package, but regardless it was insured for up to 20,000$? Is this true??? If so, why does PSA charge more for cards shipped with a higher stated value? I think registered mail is already insured, and does not cost more for stating higher values.

edited: I need to start sortiung through my 51 red menace set for the non-sport special, this is going to be a $$$ month as far as grading goes.

    I believe registered mail just comes with the first $100 of insurance, however you can insure it up to 25,000. Which is much higher than most other packages. Problem is, it takes forever to get to it's destination and you have to brown-paper-tape the whole thing. I send 99.9% of my stuff via priority mail with appropriate insurance and DC to PSA. If I was sending in a very expensive card(s) then I use registered mail just for the security. But for $7.05 I get about $500 of insurance, 2 day shipping and delivery confirmation. I used to do registered but the shipping was 5-7 days all the time... I'm too anxious. image

    YA KNOW image, I sent my first submission like you , and everyone around here told me I was nuts, they wont accept it and blah blah blah. You are the wiser envoy! Thanks!!!

    Same thing here. Registered Only! I just checked the submission page and it looks like anything is ok anymore. I was under the impression that they would only accept registered mail. Thats an extra 8 bucks to put towards my return postage when they tell me they have to split my order....
