Today's coin show purchase

Sweden 1803 1/4 Skilling. Any grade opinions? The photos are nice and large so wybrit can see them with his old eyes. Coin is slightly darker than images.

As for grade, I'd hazzard a conservative XF-45.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
I've never seen one before, so I wouldn't try to grade it. - Preussen

That's the only thing that worried me. But it isn't as obvious on the coin as it is in the huge image. I figured for a coin 202 years old I can accept a little crud.

It doesn't really bother me either, and it'd probably slab as is, if you were so inclined. I've had that kind of look on coins after an acetone bath, and I usually had great success in removing it (not always, and it depends on how long the crud has been there, or how "crusty" it is, which often it's not) with a long soak in olive oil followed by a gentle scrubbing with a soft toothbrush, followed by another acetone bath. In very many cases, the crud disappears easily.

Not being a student of Swedish coins, I wouldn't know if the apparent wear on the crowns is die related or not. If the die/strike is weak, then you have a pretty high grade piece there.
Depending on where the soft strike ends and the rub begins, I could see this one going anywhere from 35 to 55.
