Toning Silver Eagle

I have a Silver Eagle which is toning gold around the rim...then it looks like it is going red in a spot...I think I like this...it is in a Dansco Album...since 1999.

    I've got a '90(PCGS MS68) and an '03(NGC MS67) with rim toning and will gladly add any other years as I find them. Here's the 1990...

    I sold a Proof and business strike set of ASEs last year for a friend. All of the coins were in Dansco albums and they all got the same kind of toning. Some of the Proof coins got milky spots too. The gold/yellow toning was nice, but the spots were unattractive.

    I have a 1993 that is in a screw type key chain that has been inside a velvet case for many years. It is a purple, gun metal blue and green on the front and the back is rainbow toned around the rims and gold in the center.

    OK, check this one out. It's the same coin as above in the PCGS MS68 photo. This coin toned this way in an envelope. It took ONE year!

    Wow guys those are sharp...mine has not toned that much but in time...it looks like it is going red...not to much toning on the others in the album...I wonder why just that one is toning...strange.

    I'm with dlimb2 here. Those are absolutely gorgeous Eagles. image I've had my eagles in the same Dansco for better than ten years and the only toning that is occuring is a little gold around the 86 and a bit more around the 89. What kind of envelope was that Eagle in anyway? image
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    I was told it was in an envelope that the girl purchased at office depot. A regular legal sized envelope. She sent me on for doing the photography and sending the coin in for her and to my pleasant surprize, my coin is indeed toning. Not as quickly as hers but it is starting to change to a desrirable design. It has been in for one year and I'm thinking that I have another year to go.
