    While I have no knowledge of what happened in Martys case, I have seen other excellent sellers turn up as NARU on eBay for short periods of time over problems with their CC (ex. card expired and the seller does not update their information with the new expiration date quickly enough for eBay).

    I hope we see the Mad one back on eBay soon!

    Here's the Liteside thread with much more info.

    Apparantly Sleezebay is using IP numbers to come to the conclusion that His Madness is using a shill bidder. It's wrong and false. CU uses the same principle to ban forum member accounts, and has already banned 2 of my friends' accounts here. Needless to say, they're not too happy with CU's business model.

    You got it right ccrdragon:

    The guy's one of the most interesting and innovative collectors around. I haven't seen his auctions but if they were anything like his posts on this forum, they would be among the funnest auctions in town. EBay losses as much as Mad Marty. The pity is that they've grown so big and bureaucratic, they don't realize it.

    And while eBay charges after one of the good guys, like Marty, it sure looks to me like they let frauds sell bogus rare date coins.

    In any case, my opinion of eBay is image
