It's amazing the things you remember about some of your cards.
Here are my best deals.
Sold- PSA 10 John Bagley that I paid 10 cents for and $5 grading for $456 : Bought 2003 Michael Jordan UD Century Legends Auto $450.
Sold- PSA 10 Joe Barry Carroll that I paid 10 cents for and $5 grading for $204 : Bought PSA 9 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Fleer Greats Auto and 2004 Larry Bird SP Game used auto PSA 10.
Sold- 1996 Fleer Flair Hot Numbers Grant Hill for $40: Bought 1971 Willie Mays for $40. Now PSA 7.
Sold- Various singles and inserts from 1995 Topps Finest Basketball (Box cost me $90) for $120. Bought 1971 approximately 520 nrmt commons and a 1971 Roberto Clemente (Now psa 8 OC) for $70 and $40 respectably
Sold- Some original Star Wars figures from 1984 that my father bought for dollars each-$540. Bought 1961 Fleer Jerry West PSA 7 $350 and 1961 Fleer Oscar Robertson PSA 7 $200.
Bought in 1985- 2 Star company basketball sets that both contained Jordan (1985 Slam Dunk and 1985 Lite All-Stars) $3 each
And my favorite trade of all time (in 1980) 1980 Topps Dave Kingman for 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson.
I once traded the 1982 Drakes set for a 1966 #1 Willie Mays (ex.condition) when I was about 12 but I felt so bad about it I told my friend that I could't go through with it.
Unfortunately I could fill up a lot more space with duds.
Vince Carter-Uuugh I sold a 1970 Lew Alcindor SGC 92 (Before PSA graded) for $150 to buy a SPX Carter rookie. I think it had a shot at PSA 9. I still havent gotten that card back yet.
Not buying Nolan Ryan rookies for $10 each around 1981
Not buying more star Jordans for $3 each at the flea market
Not having a license until 1987- A small gas station in Four Oaks, NC had 1986 Fleer Basketball packs but I couldn't get to them at will.
I did buy a whole box of 1988 Fleer Basketball a few years later.
Christmas 1982 and I am 11 years old- I asked my mom for the 1973 Topps Baseball set. I told her that's all I wanted. I think the cost was $75-100 from Larry Fritch. She thought the idea was absurd. Her words were, "You know if I buy you this and no toys that you will be upset on Christmas Day."
Another Christmas I asked for a 1954 Topps Aaron rookie ($150). You guessed it, No.
Anyone remember good trades or purchases from the past that they could share?

We have had similar discussions in the past and everyone will have their favorite - although this isn't my best - it's one of my favorite.
Greg Manning had an auction at the National in '94 and it flopped. I placed a min. bid of 4 or 550$ for this card.
On a good day, this will now bring in the 4+K range.

-Got a free NM-MT+ 76/77 Topps Kareem card from a local basketball dealer in 95 or 96. It was a way of saying thanks for some Star basketball I had bought earlier.
-Bought an exmint Joe Morgan rookie for $5 in 1990 at a little 20 table show.
-My first PSA 9. Bought a lot of '61 Topps commons at a cost basis of a few bucks a card and got a Ron Piche 9.
Worst deals...
-Bought a counterfeit '34 Goudey Jimmy Foxx from a guy at a show in 1990 when I was 12. Only a few years later when I went to sell it did I realize the cards were suppose to have green ink on the back instead of black! Still have the card.
-Bought a counterfeit '85 Star Miller Lite Jordan for $150.
-Sold probably $1,000 worth of high grade modern rookies (Yzerman, Coffey, Griffey, Clemens, Ripken) to put into Star basketball in the early 90's.
-91 OPC Premier baseball when it was "rare".
Bought a raw 1999 UD MVP hockey John Madden RC for $3 at a Chantilly Va. show in '99 and it graded PSA 10, I'd imagine a Madden/Devils collector would grab it for $20-30...
Bought a BGS 8.5 (not BVG) '65 Banks for $220 on Ebay 2 years ago, it now resides in a PSA 9 holder and books for ~$750
Bought a raw '67 topps Yaz at Hall of Fame Cards at Cabin John mall in Potomac, MD for $40... slabbed PSA 8 last year ~$150, but I've seen them go for $200 routinely on Ebay...
Bought a raw '67 topps Kaline at the same shop the same day for $12, it also now resides in a PSA 8 holder ~$50...
Bought a raw '59 topps W.Ford that very same day for $30, graded PSA 7 and goes for around $75 presently... if it were centered better it would have been a sure-fire PSA 8...
Bought a '68 topps Ditka in an SGC 92 off Ebay, perfectly centered for about $50, now in a PSA 9 holder... books for $175 but Block Sportscards just sold one for $500(!)...
Bought a '68 topps McCovey in an SGC 92 off Ebay, also perfectly centered for just over $30, it too now resides in a PSA 9 holder and goes for ~$125...
Bought a '68 topps B.Robinson AllStar off of Ebay in a BGS 8 (not BVG) with a 9.5 for centering for about $25, now it's also in a PSA 9 holder (had a shot at a 10 I believe)...
Bought a '67 topps Aaron in an SCD 7 off of Ebay over a year ago for around $60, it now has a home in a PSA 8 slab and goes for books for $190 but usually sells for well over $200...
Bought an '82 Fleer Ripken RC in a CSA 9 (old blue holder) also off Ebay for about $20, cracked and sent to PSA and they agreed, it's in a PSA 9 holder now and books for $65...
Bought a '58 topps W.S. Foes Mantle/Aaron in an old red KSA 7 holder off Ebay, perfect 50-50-50-50 centering and nice corners for $90, now in a PSA 6 holder and books for $190...
I'd say my worst transaction was buying a raw Walter Payton RC raw off of Ebay back in '99 (my first Ebay purchase ever) for $350 w/ perfect centering, but was dismayed to see corner wear upon delivery...it only received a PSA 8 and sells for between $175-200 these days... I suppose if I hold it long enough I'll recoup my initial investment... I can wait
