What recent "important" sportcards have yet to be given a PSA 10 grade?

that there are zero PSA 10's for Tony Dorsett's 78 Topps RC

I just recently started a Dorsett set in the registry so i guess i'll have to settle for a 9 . I sent one a couple of months ago that i've had for years in to PSA and it came back only a 7.

Are there any other important Rc cards out there that have yet to yield a PSA 10 ? At least any that are as recent as Dorsett's.

great topic! I have wondered the same thing... We should restart this with a more fitting title and I bet more will get involved....
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
  • not a rookie but I was very suprised to see there are no 1986 Topps Joe Montana 10s (I dont have the pop reports but looking at the Montana registery sets theres a bunch of 9s and none graded higher)
  • Bryan Trottier 1976 Topps and OPC RC's: neither issue has ever been graded 10.

There are only three PSA 9 OPC's and five PSA 9 Topps.
  • Great topic is an understatement. I guess there goes my list of "raw" stars I've been trying to sneak under the radar.......
  • Great . Glad you guys are enjoyed the topic

I changed the title , hope it helps lol
  • How's about Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and Hank Aaron all in the 1975 Topps Mini's with Zero PSA 10's!
Of course when you start cracking the boxes you find out very quickly why there are no 10's......So many centering, chipping, ink mark, bubble marks, and mis-cut card problems with this set. It's amazing the card value's are not higher for high grade cards from this set? When you find a PSA 9 in this set it's pretty rare let alone a PSA 10! This set had a life similar to that of a King Salmon making its way back up river to spawn! image Low and behold some actually make it!
  • Here's an unexpected one:

1994 Upper Deck SP Die-Cut Alex Rodriguez: Out of 1224 graded, 44 mint and no 10's. That's a tough card!
  • -1985 Topps John Elway! Zip...

    -80/81 OPC Bourque Rc.

-81/82 OPC Coffey, Moog, Savard, Kurri, Glen Anderson, Ciccarelli, Messier, Gretzky......

If you want to consider 1973 Topps Football as kinda modern/recent, then how about these football toughies no PSA 10s!

    025 George Blanda 98 PSA graded - no 10s!
    077 Art Shell 112 PSA Graded - no 10s!
    115 Jack Ham 190 Graded - no 10s!
    214 Nick Bouniconti 72 PSA graded - no 10s!
    245 John Riggins 74 PSA Graded - no 10s!
280 Mean Joe Greene 42 PSA Graded - no 10s!
    288 Jack Tatum 102 PSA Graded - no 10s!
    320 Fred Biletnokoff 49 Graded PSA - no 10s!
    322 Dan Dierdord 115 PSA Graded - no 10s!
    455 Johnny Unitas 134 PSA Graded - no 10s!

edit: Oh yeah, do you still consider O.J. Simpson to be an important card? # 500 O.J. Simpson 101 PSA Graded - no 10s! image

Not a RC but the 1978 Topps Nolan Ryan # 400 is proving to be a really tough card for a "modern" set. Zero 10's and only 20 9's among the numerous submitted. I have yet to see a 9 with this card that could be considered a "high end" 9.

  • Again, on the border of modern and vintage for some, but 1975 football is tough for some cards, and Ken Houston, #519, a Hall of Famer, not only are there NO 10's, but NO 9's, and NO 8's. Only one graded and it is a 7. A tough card for registry collectors.
  • I always thought it was odd that in the 1972 icee bear basketball set
Jabbar and Robertson have a combined 302 psa 9s, but zero psa 10s.
