1957 Baseball Now "Straight 8's" Plus A Little

Earlier this week I picked up a PSA 8 #287 Sam Jones which replaces the last PSA 7 in my set, which is now all 8's except for 2 PSA 9's! I've been looking for this card for two years and it's finally mine! Going forward I'll probably sprinkle in a few PSA 9's here and there, but I have no big program to chase the top guys. My 1957 Basic set is currently #11, and I might try to bump Joe and Levi down a notch, however!

Congrats... very nice. I can only hope to one day get to all 8's. I really cant see it happening with the cost of certain cards and my lack of focus on one set/goal. I have set a 7.5 gpa with some key cards in 8's. I am over 30% 7 or better and just under 40% total. So far to go.

That's incredible, Steve. If I hadn't done the 61 AS and working on the 63 set as well, I would be buying some 57s in PSA 8. But alas, I can only drool on other people's sets.

By the way, what do PSA 8s for the '57 set go for? How about PSA 7s? This is my favorite set of all time and I never inquired about starting it because I figured that it was too expensive to put together. I'm currently working on '72s and '75 minis sets. But, I'm selling off a couple of my other sets and most/all of my raw cards to concentrate on putting a true vintage set like the '57s.
