1997 Fleer series II boxes

Obviously these boxes are not worth that much however, they are going up. BBXechange has none and nothing on ebay completed or active auctions. Are people just hoarding these? Nothing other really than the Ortiz(Arias) in the set.

    The Ortiz alone is probably the cause right now. I cracked open several retail boxes of these back in late 1998, $9.99 boxes at K-Mart. I had 4 Ortiz rookies and finally sold them last winter after the WS. I had a lot of 3 that sold for close to $40 I think and then broke up a partial set and listed the single and that sold well also. With strong selling prices on the singles and the chance at a Tiffany, of not just Ortiz but many others, I can see why this product has dried up right now. Keith Foulke and Bill Mueller RCs as well as the Diamond Tribute inserts and retail only Bleacher Blasters don't hurt either.
