Question for the gang

I'm looking for a PSA 5 or 6 55 Aaron and this one is up for auction and looks pretty nice. My question is this: The seller has pretty low feedback which heightens my suspicions and in his description he says the card is from a private collection and recently graded on 8/17/05 yet the cert # is 12306713. Seems like a low number for a recently graded card. Is this possible? I apologize if this seems trivial, just trying to avoid a scam. Thanks.

    The first two or three digits of the cert numbers are not indicative of when it was graded, I believe they represent an ID of the grader who actually graded the card. I just got a submission back this week with certs beginning 122XXXXX.

    Good question....I'm curious too. My last order all had numbers starting with 3. The order before that all
    started with the number 9. Haven't seen it start with 1 in a long time. Maybe it is possible. Anyone else?

    I dont know about the cert. but the auction looks legit. If anything pay for paypal and get your $ back at the worse case. The card looks real, the cert. checks out and I've seen private auctions have ebay sell they're cards before.

    I took a good look at this and his other auctions, etc. Didn't see any red flags from my point of view. That is a heckuva nice PSA 5!

    I have seen recently graded cards with the 12.......certs
    I agree it does look nice for a 5. perhaps it has a small surface wrinkle?

    My last 4 submissions all came back 123xxx for the certs. They were all graded in August.

    My psa/dna submission is also 123 for the first 3 numbers

    I wonder what that frost mark on the slab is?

    anyone else see that?

    it can be seen really well on the reverse.
