How sad is it you're bragging about beating a team with 1/8th of your payroll?

How sad it is they STILL own the yankees this year?

And how many times are you going to use that stupid, ridiculous 'who dat' line? You sound like an imbecile. Oh wait, you are, so I guess it fits.

That was good for the Yankees tonight. Torre wasted no time in putting in reserves for the rest of the game once they had a comfortable lead. Tomorrow is going to be another hard day for the Yanks. Tampa Bay is very stubborn, they will not roll over.

The Yankee roster is not really 200 million. A lot of high priced players are no longer on the roster like Kevin Brown and Carl Pavano. The Yankees are a mixture of high priced free agents, rookies, home growns, and "scrap heaps."

  • Axthole, you are just upset because the Yankees are going to make the playoffs.

    Spammy-

The yankees aren't going to make the playoffs, but good try at trying to divert the attention AGAIN away from the original topic. Way to go! You derail more threads than anyone I've ever seen.

Deut-the 'roster' may not be $200 million, but the spankees have spent well OVER 200 million in money this year on payroll, and where's the difference?

How sad is it that you can't buy your wins over a team with 1/8th of your payroll?

How sad is it the d'rays have dominated the yankees this season?

    There's no excuse for it.

DG, you usually have great comments and opinions - but this time I must disagree. Strongly, in fact. You still have to count the casualties - all of them - when you factor in how much the Yanks have spent this year. I'm sure they would love to see Brown still pitching (heck, I would love to see him still pitching!), but just because he fell apart, it does not excuse the Yanks from paying him. I think what is interesting is that the Yanks spent over $200M, but they did not spend it well. Which is why the rotation consists of pitchers like Chacon, Small, and Leiter. That won't get it done come crunch time.

Oh, and Spammy - you stole (what else is new?) that rear view mirror image from the Red Sox Dirt Dogs site last year. Aren't there any Yankee sites that have something original?

Well the yankees pick up everyone else's scraps, their fans do the same with copycat images...are you surprised?

I mean how many times is spammy going to use the 'who dat' line?

    ctsoxfan,

I know what you mean, but my comment was on the ROSTER itself, not the total spending on the team. Sure they spent over 200 million on the team, but the actual roster used is a different story. I still think its a waste though. I wish BROWN was still pitching--I am referring the Brown that helped the Marlins win the WS.

  • Yankees, who dat standing between you and the post-season?

  • Geronomo?

  • Of the Yankees 6 wins against the DRays this year, 3 games the Yankees have scored 17 runs or more. Their problem is that they didn't save those runs for some other games. image

TRUE so far and will continue to be true if they can keep playing like they have been.

The Indians are red hot - at the right time. They will be tough in the postseason, with their great bullpen (even minus Rhodes) and starting pitching.
