1962 Civil War News

I have posted a fair number of PSA CWN cards on ebay.

Would anyone have any cello packs for sale?

Anyone have the Spanish or French cards available?

Any CWN currency collectors out there?

Just consigned my 36 count CWN Cello box to Mastro. It will be in the October auction.

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!
  • I started a very small set. I'm still trying to figure out the "ABC" designation, which I guess is British. Can you tell me what it means? I had no idea about the Spanish or French cards. Can you tell me about them?

A&BC is the marketing name for Topps in the UK - the cards are a bit smaller, more like the size of '52 Bowmans, and of course the manufacturers' line is different. The "Battle" set has a few cards in it that are not included in the US version, but, for the most part, the cards in the various sets are the same. Prices/values are generally less than the Topps versions.

  • I have sold PSA cards from both sets.

The first is the 1962 Topps Civil War News
and the British (UK Topps licensed version) is 1965 A&BC Civil War News

The British version is slight smaller, but otherwise the sets are pretty much the same colors and vibrancy.
The A&BC cards usually go for a little less, but due to the high prices of the 1962 Topps CWN cards, recently the 1965 A&BC cards have been bringing higher and higher prices, since the cards are pretty much the same.

Some people are die-hard and want the 62's only, others are starting to see the benefits of collecting the 1965 A&BC cards.
    To each their own.
