Jersey Display case

Anybody have one that there happy with? I'm looking for one for one to display a hockey jersey in. Sportscases.com looks like perhaps my best bet. Pennzoni's look ok, but affordable. Hanging a jersey in one with a cloths hanger looks a little tacky. Looking for some input. Thanks Ben

  • If you want to do it right it's going to cost you a good $300+ to frame a jersey. They're a real hassle and if you want it to look nice, the jersey needs to be stretched properly and then stitched into matting, and finally you need to have a mat specially cut around the jersey. Most frame shops can do it. There's a couple of places on the web that specialize in framing jersey and they look spectacular. If you're on a budget, the best bet is to just get one of those cheesy shadow boxes with a hangar.

i have been wondering the same thing. what works best?

stitched into matting- doesnt that ruin the jersey?

  • i guess it depends on your definition of "ruin." if you plan on wearing the jersey, it's probably ruined, at the same time if you have a 1930's gehrig game worn jersey, you might want to think twice. however, you'll never know it's been stitched in, and you can see a huge difference in presentation. when you look at poorly framed jerseys you'll notice wrinkles, in the material that get worse over time as the jersey adjusts in the frame. the only way to avoid it, and maintain a jersey that looks fresh from the dry cleaner is to have it sewn to the mat. Typically, resale value is far higher too if you ever want to sell it in the future.
