I agree with your position on "feedback relevant to the transaction, not the value" and with leaving feedback on all transactions. I have to disagree with your posting a neutral if you never contacted the seller. I would have given him the opportunity to make it right. (Hence the format of my original post). I think BBFanatic summed it up pretty well, you and packCollector can go back and forth all you like. It is entertaining.
My point is, leave feedback appropriate to the transaction, but give the seller the opportunity to remedy any concerns you have as I think that's a very important part of the whole transaction. If you get a big "F--- You" then neg away, regardless of the value.
envoy , that was my point in there somewhere. the value is not important except in the fact to evaluate the seller and the sellers intentions. by being a low value and with no experience , it is hard to come to the conclusion that this is a card doctor. I said in there somewhere that I blocked him for how he handled the transaction and that was the reason for the block, not because he got scr*wed and I was siding with the mad scientist seller. I think in all the banter my point got lost which is why I am reposting. and yes it livens things up a little
<< <i>Hard to base a negative or nuetral on a trim job of a 3.00 card. How many people here have cracked fresh packs, picked out a primo card to send to PSA and had it come back "Not holdered/Evid Trim..............? >>
I have two boxes of pack fresh 81 Donruss that anyone would swear were trimmed by a blind man with a switchblade.
It's a tough situation...it's not worth leaving negs...they can onyl come back to haunt you!! Principle aside....why chance any retaliation for a few bucks.. But it disheartens me to see so many people who slam raw cards on Ebay!! Yes, there are those who frequently over grade or over state there cards..... But there ARE those of use who sell both raw and graded cards..for one simple reason....to fill supply where there is a demand. Not all collectors want to spend $9.95 for a PSA 8 Carlton Fisk...or even huge dollars for a 10....but you know what...I sell raw cards that are just as nice for low low prices...heck they start at .99 most times.... With HUGE scans and conditions in the auctions...it's hard to be mislead....
So if someone wants a Fisk or Bench or whoever for cheap $$$ they should get the best quality card that they can...if they want graded..well then they can determine at what price..
But always keep in mind that in the 60's and 70's..even early 80's....QUALITY wasn't a top proirity!! Centering...cuts...focus... These are the resons why we cherish the Set Registry now...
So if the Bench looks trimmed...who knows...maybe a dull blade was on the line the day they were cut..and as for stright from the case to a sleeve...heck I have a PILE of cards that were straight from vending cases that ALL come back mimimum size requirement....or evidenced of trim....these were straight from TOPPS....lol Go figure....
There will forever be people who try to make fast dollars praying on others....they all come and go....my philosophy is to make slow nickels and generate long time customers and a huge customer base...
