Player set additions?

Anyone experienced this kind of wait? I put in a request on May 9 to have a card added to the Mike Bossy Master Set, and it was completed Sep 9, exactly 4 months later.
I've just put in a request to have two more cards added to the Bossy Master Set, but with just over a month to go before the 2005 deadline, I don't see how they will be done in time for me to add them to my set.

<< <i>9/5/05
Player Card Addition Deadline Friday, September 9th
Cards requests for player set additions received after 9/9/05 will be added after the 2005 PSA Set Registry Award deadline on 10/31/05. >>
So, I believe anything requested before last Friday will be added before the registry awards this year. It's painfully slow for them to get cards added to the player sets...

This is so frustrating!!! How can it possibly take 4-5 months to get to a simple email (or web) request to add a card to the database for a particular set??? I remember requesting cards to be added to one of my master player sets about 2 years ago, and getting an email from BJ or Gayle within an hour, letting me know that the card was added! What changed in the past 2 years? I can't imagine that there are that many more requests now, considering that most of the player sets are getting closer to being maxed out, as far as additions go. 2 years ago, I was requesting 10, 20, 30, or more cards a week to be added to my sets and they never took longer than a few days or so to be added, and frequently, they would be added the same day of my request.
It's very hard for me to even keep track of what I have and what I need now. I have to search for cards lying around my office every time I see something that I think I might need. I have purchased and even sent cards in for grading that I already have, just because I forgot that I already acquired an example and requested that it be added to the set several months ago!
I'm seriously considering abandoning a couple of my sets because of this - it's really not worth the aggravation.
I hope that someone at PSA (higher up than a moderator) reads this, because it means a loss of several hundred submissions from me each year.
The Set Registry used to enhance my Player set collecting experience. Now, it's actually a hindrance to it.
Something needs to change!

My sincere hope is that all additions sent by last Friday are included by mid-to-late October so that they are at least caught up for a little while. I imagined that that was the intent of the message - although I am not positive. You are right, though. It's not the fault of BJ, Cosetta, etc. - I am more unhappy that this has been given such a low priority. I hope that this is not an ongoing problem - and that it is largely caught up soon.

Agreed.
Im hoping they could maybe get some additional help to get things caught up. I dont mind waiting but many months gets tough to stay patient and keep track of what is/isnt listed in my player sets across my paper 'have lists'.
Id suggest this for submitted additions:
I keep a post it note with the date I submitted the cards on the back of the holder w/ a rubberband (gasp! rubberbands on cards!!! LOL) around it to keep each stack of submissions together.
I wasnt too excited to get an email the day before the deadline saying "this is the final deadline". Was it announced weeks/months ago and I was just asleep at the wheel? Bummer cuz I had just bought like 25 cards that werent added and now are not eligible... which wouldve given me a very healthy % bump up.

I requested 2 additions to the Jacques Plante master set and they were added under 4 months.
With a back log of requests this is about as good as we should expect.
