ACCS Certification Service for ancients

Has anyone used the ACCScertification service for ancient coins? I have a Tetradrachm that I would like to get authenticated, but before I send my coin and check I would like to get a referal or two. Thanks.
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!

  • You might also want to consider Idependent Coin Grading (ICG). They have a very good reputation for ancient coins and most ancients that I have seen slabbed were slabbed by them.

I use ICG myself, but I believe David Sear is a very trusted name in Ancient coins.

Thanks for the replies. I do want my coin graded as well, though my coin has "test cuts" on both sides of the coin. Does ICG net grade? Thanks again.

They do not net grade per se. Test cuts are fairly common on many ancient coins. If ICG bodybags a coin, they only charge you $5.00, not the whole fee of the service. Here is an ICG certified Roman coin:

  • I would say David Sear is a trusted name in Ancients. He wrote the books on Roman coins and they are commonly cataloged by Sear numbers.

    Exactly. Sear wrote the book(s).

Any suggestions for dealers (internet) who sell ICG certified ancients? Any that you would recommend?

    Thanks!
