For those who have a completed set on the registary, do you remember the last card that you had to buy for that set? Whas it an easy or hard card to find. If it was a hard card how long did you have to wait to purchase that last card?

When i complete one I will let you know.

I completed a raw 1970-71 OPC hockey set a month ago (about EX-MT) and did so by acquiring the two checklists at the same time. It is quite difficult to get unchecked checklists from this era, and I had to bide my time for about six months (it took me about two years to build the set). The father of a colleague had them and I happily made the purchase.
I have dozens of these OPC sets on the go and nice checklists are murder to find.

I already know what my two cards will be---1) 1976 Red Barn Carew Disc----2) 1982 FBI Foods Disc Carew.

I had a goal some years back, to complete the 1976 Topps Baseball PSA Set in mint (all PSA 9s and 10s). I've done it! I now have the world's best all-time 1976 Topps Baseball set. The problem is I've accumulated 654 PSA 10s & PSA 9s, out of the 660 card set.
Plus these six PSA 8s:
# 051 Ray Burris PSA 8 (4 graded higher!)
# 182 Harry Rasmussen (5 graded higher!)
# 308 Jim Barr (3 graded higher!)
# 585 Joe Torre (3 graded higher!)
# 609 Fred Norman (5 graded higher!)
# 621 Tom Hall (6 graded higher!)
I missed-out last week, on a #621 Tom Hall in PSA 10. I was sniped! I was angry, freaked-out, as I never thought my bid would be topped. But I was! "In the last 5 seconds" d@mn! LOL! To think I have all the stars in PSA 10s and 9s (i.e., Brett, Aaron, Rose, Ryan, Bench, Seaver, Yaz, Rookies: The "Eck" Man, Randolph, Guidry, and so many more really tough cards to locate in mint grade like, Jim Umbarger, Richie Zisk, Jim Hughes, Jim Slaton, Danny Frisella, Randy Moffitt, Bob Robertson, Jim Brewer, Rick Miller, Ken Forsch, or just try to find another mint Leroy Stanton, Tony Taylor, J.R. Richard, Tim Johnson or Greg Luzinski card out there! Or how about a PSA 10 of the #262 Checklist/133-264, ...super tough! Anyone see a Ted Simmons PSA 9? I doubt it! Or the ultra-tough, Dave Cash card in mint! Or maybe the toughest common of 1976: #373 Johnny Briggs. Really want another toughie in PSA mint, well how about a #350 Lefty Grove All-time All-Star card. Plus dozens of other 1976 cards that were (and still are!) really tough to locate in mint condition!
My point, I've lost count on the many thousands of extra dollars I've spent over the years in buying and bidding for those special cards, like a rare high end PSA 9 George Brett card or a PSA 10 rookie card of Willie Randolph or even a PSA 10 Ted Williams ATG. And not to mention the 100s I spent on some upgrades to PSA 10s, in the past few weeks Gene Garber, Larry Hisle, Ray & Bob Boone and Dick Bosman. So stingray, there are still big bucks to be spent, and maybe "more years of hunting", as long as my passion and desire for perfection continues? Who knows?

Dan, two things! 1/ The bulk of my PSA registry sets are in storage and 2/ I've tried (and failed!) to load pictures. Soon, I hope to have someone locally tutor me. Sorry Dan, as I'll enjoy scanning and downloading pics for my sets.

When I started my set back in June of 2004 there were approx. 43 cards that didn't have a PSA 9 or better. That number is now down to 10 cards without a PSA 9 or better (1 card #301 Dave Roberts has no PSA 9 but there is 1 PSA 10). Those 10 cards are #31 Rader, #56 Wise, #75 Simmons, #168 Greif, #173 Rogers, #251 Healy, #564 Davis, #583 Etchebarren, #626 Haney, and #647 Washington.
My set has now reached a GPA of 8.88 with 559 cards at PSA 9 or better. It's pretty slow going for me now, as most of the PSA 9's I still need have a population of 1 or 2. Might be awhile before I get to 9.00 The only star cards I need in PSA 9 are #500 Ryan (only 1 PSA 9 has sold on ebay in the past year and it went for over $1,200 just resently with an SMR of just $575....lol), and #640 Killebrew. So needless to say I'm thrilled with my progress and it's been a great run so far!
Best of luck with your 75 Topps Set Stingray

Incredible set! I hope my passion for the Mini's doesn't go quite as far as your's has with the 76 Topps I do believe I'd go broke!
