Not quite. Maybe in the near future. And if you factor in inflation or the increase in M2, then the equivalent price today is about $225.

Let's look at gold, adjusted for inflation. Chart is in 2005 dollars.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • 7summits; thanks for the cool link ! by my eyes; gold is INDEED @ 15 year high .
as for these fellers that are determined to factor in inflation and depriciation ; thats bull
-inflation eats at every commodity/product each year evenly, accross the board .
so why piss on the positive of our Gold Party ????image

That's also the great fallacy of stock market gains over the past 70 years....at least as far as the broad indexes go. After tossing out the losers along the way, and then pulling out inflation, there is very little left other than from zero to a couple of percent per year. Inflation cuts at everything. And the GOVT taxes you on inflation gains. Whoever came up with this system is a genius....and the people follow like sheeple.

Well, I took it the other way. If gold had been at a 15 year HIGH factoring in inflation and Depreciation, etc. then that would have been a SELL sign for me.

If anything, your "gold party" had been enhanced by the fact that gold is still cheap in "real terms."

As far as "pissing" on the postives of the gold party, it doesn't bother me as I will always vote for all the information even if some of it is "sobering."
