Coach's Corner Auction Site

Can I trust that the items up for auction on Coach's Corner are authentic?

There's quite a few autographs that I'm interested in but they're not authenticated by PSA/DNA or anyone.. they have a fair bit of GEM graded garbage which makes me nervous not to mention thier shaby looking website.

  • I don't know what you are looking at, but Coaches Corner used to have ads with themselves and "whoever" at the airport or where ever to "prove" the authenticity of thier autographs. They used to get a ton of new stuff by just following people and having them autograph some things (and taking the picture of them posing or shaking hands to prove it)rather than signing them to do a show or private signing. It used to work, but anymore who knows.......

I believe they have a return policy, but the burden is on you to prove it. I think they are trying to get into the big leagues of auctions houses, but their operation is too rinky dink. For example, the pimp list they have on their site for non-payers is not professional IMHO. I thought the reason why you go to an auction is for their top notch "client list".

I'm surprised anyone would use them over ebay.

Well.. things do go for a lot less on there compared to eBay when looking at Ty Cobb.. Babe Ruth autos.. but I'll go with my gut and stay away.

I have bought a lot of stuff from them and am VERY careful what I choose.

As for the "high dollar" autos - most will be bad IMO. I once put a 'low ball' bid on an Ruth auto and much to my surprise won it - that made me very nervous - well - I sent it to PSA and they wouldn't give it a "go."

Coach's corner gave me a full refund even after the return period was over - some stuff gets a "life-time" by them and most 3 wks.

Since they have started allowing vendors with gem and pro to use their web, I am losing a lot of respect for them.

They are a regular SCD ad subscriber for many years and the owner is a pretty good guy.

I bought from them before I realized that there was so much bad stuff out there! They do use Chris Morales to authenticate/review some of their stuff - how good he is? Probably no better or worse than the rest of them - after all, it's just an opinion.

They never were on par with any of the big auction houses - they have always been more of an SCD auction site just like Kevin Savage who is a great guy.

PM me if you need to talk any further.

  • Mike -

    Let's be honest here.

You buy from C. Corner in an effort to re-live your lost youth and get on their "pimp list." image

I can't argue with the comments.

Especially since I enquired about the Fro-joy and it's still up for sale?

    Very disappointing

  • they have a bunch of PRO graded vintage cards.....probably one of the bigger red flags
  • Perhaps this post will shed some light on Coach's Corner in general and their return policy in particular. I will never do business with them again!!

Stay away from anything authenticated by Chris Morales. He's tied to Donald Frangipani.
