I don't post here much, but as a life-long Yankees fan (who was lucky enough to be at the World Series game in 77 when Reggie hit 3 Home Runs) I'm not really sure what the point of your signature/picture and this post are meant to convey other than to make more people hate the Yankees or SOME of their fans. Last year was the biggest disappointment for me next to the 2001 World Series, but the Red Sox annihilated us. Was I happy about it ... of course not, but in my opinion you don't throw stuff in people's faces because it will ALWAYS come back to bite you in the a$$.

By the way, it was Schilling and his bloody sock that beat us and if you haven't noticed the Yankees haven't won a World Series since you've been posting on this forum. Maybe if you took a break, they'd win again image

  • JMB, excellent post and I wholeheartedly agree. By the way Gemmy, I'm pretty tolerant of your messages, but sometimes your posts (such as this one) show you to be a complete fool. I suggest that you apologize (editing/deleting your post just WON'T cut it - in fact, leave the message for all to see what you are.) Regarding Schilling - what a gutty performance!

  • It's obvious he now creates these posts to irk Axtell

The problem is , i believe he forgets that the rest of us have to deal with these meaningless posts that clog the board

I nominate jmb's post for post of the month! Well said - I'll buy the beers for that one!

By the way, this type of post from Gemmy usually means good things for the Sox. Let's hope he did it again.

  • MAYBE JUST MAYBE Gemmy should print this thread out on his Dot Matrix printer, and wipe his A%% with this thread when he gets home from the game,....8-1 Red Sox!

    Too funny.

The more spammy makes predictions, the more the OPPOSITE comes true!

First it was Posada hitting 40 homers this year.

Then it was big unit having a great year.

Then it was Cano winning RoY (he made his 15th(!!!) error today).

    Now this!

8 innings, 2 earned.....Yeah you really showed Schilling huh?

edit: the questions that remain: will spammy show his ignorant self here tonight, and what inning did he choose to run and hide from the stadium after the horrific display the spankees put on today?

I am quoting myself - because I just knew the Spaminator would give us that little extra today! image

Schilling was magnificent today, eh Spammy? He shut down the Yankee lineup completely, and really gave up nothing until garbage time in the 8th inning. His fastball hit 95+ on several occasions, and had several pitches working well today. His best start of the year, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

Oh, and how did your boy Chacon do? 3 innings? Great - I would enjoy these next three weeks, because it is going to be a sad October with no baseball in the Spammy house. Unless of course, you become a Braves fan by then.

Can you imagine the drive home from the Bronx? You just know he is dreading coming back to this thread. But hey - you started it!

He might not. This will be a tough one for him. He called out an injured Schilling all year - and got spanked for it.

<< <i>what inning did he choose to run and hide from the stadium after the horrific display the spankees put on today? >>

I'll guess the inning after the score was 8-0. He was probably in the parking lot when he heard the fans cheering for Roid Droid's meaningless home run to make it 8-1.

How bad is this kid on defense? Last night too - he botched a clean double play ball hit right to him, and almost let the Sox back in the game. Every time I have to watch the Yankees, he seems lost out there defensively.

  • Got a $10.00 per game bet with a die hard Yankees fan for the last 6 games against the Sox.
Have a larger bet with a former member of the Yankees AAA club on who comes in 1st, Sox or Yankees.

Gemmy is just having fun. He actually likes Schilling. A little fun trash talk here and there is mainly to blow off steam from the drudgery of everyday life. If you take him too seriously, then you are taking him the wrong way.

By the way ctsoxfan, that Olerud is amazing, isn't he? I have noticed that the sox win more with Olerud starting than Millar, at least in the last few games. I am happy for Olerud and the warrior that Schilling is, but I was still wanting my Yankees to win.

You are being overly "understanding." We all have pressures from everyday life. Let him take up jogging instead of offending half the Board.

DeutscherGeist - you are right. Olerud has really delivered for the Sox this year, and the more I see him play, the more I think he should be starting everyday at first. He really is a class act as a player, and he has been delivering both at the plate, and with his glove. I think the home run he hit today is still going...

It's tough to say that he should be starting over Millar, especially with as important a player Millar has been to us over the last few seasons. But right now, Francona should be playing Olerud as much as possible, and it seems like he's doing just that. What amazes me more is that Olerud is 37, and no one seemed to want him in the past offseason.

No, he does it because he's simply jealous no one on the yankees' staff has half the heart that Schilling does.

He does it because he's a petty little man who can't do anything other than whine and complain 'his' $200 million team sucks so bad this year.

He does it because he's pathetic.
  • I guess he hasn't come home yet. Though he does get on my nerves, I hope he didn't harm himself after that disappointing loss.

    Having fun, yes. Like, NO.

Sorry, Deut , but I really dislike this guy. His mouth is big as his ego.

And his heart is bigger than anyone who's pitched in a yankee uniform in years.

Must suck to see him OWN the yanks, doesn't it?

No problem, when you back it up like he did today.

Oh, and that playoff game last year too. Remember that one, Gemmy?

Remember, spammy has undergone mental therapy that has allowed him to believe the all-time greatest chokes in sports history didn't happen, and that 2004 was a bad dream.

    Gemmy,

my mistake then. I guess it was the other two red sox pitchers that you liked--the ones you once had on your sig line.

Sunday is another day. GO YANKEES
