A bunch of slabbed world coins on e-bay closing Sunday.

Some examples:

French silver jeton by Duvivier, circa 1750-60.

Approx. 30mm (US half dollar sized). Weak reeding on edge. Feuardent #4377, Bust #308.

Obverse: Laureate head of Louis XV.

Reverse: "PROTECTEUR DE L'ACADEMIE FRANÇOISE" ("patron of the French Academy"), wreath surrounding "A L'IMMORTALITÉ" ("To Life Eternal")

I've been told it's worth about $40, though they sometimes sell for less. Buy it for $30 delivered or make me an intriguing counteroffer or swap.


These miserable pictures are from a cheap flatbed scanner and make the item look dull, flat, and lackluster.

In fact it is bright white and quite attractive- far better than the pictures indicate. There is some peripheral gold/grey toning.

It was probably cleaned at some point but I expect this is not unusual.
