1953 Parkhurst Bill Dineen Auto switch

This was brought up in the mail-call thread, and I thought it was interesting considering a few cards I found while looking though a bunch of cards I had.

The 1953 Bill Dineen and Al Arbour cards had each others pictures switched on the front - and I have the Arbour card autographed by Dineen, which I found quite interesting. I also found 2 other cards in the lot. I know almost nothing about hockey, but I must say I've had a little interest in those early Parkies (especially the 1955's) since I found these cards.

Those are great! And pen sigs rule. Sharpies are poop smears by comparison.

  • Yawie - since you seen to be the "expert" on this set, what's the deal with the photo switch? Ever hear what the reason was for that? Just plain carelessness?

BTW, love the Arsenal shirt in your sig line.

I really don't know about the photo switch. I'm assuming the images were just transposed on the sheet.

And it's good to see some other footie fans here!

    Yep, a relatively common error.
  • rl,

    Great autos. Love the Prystai.

Topps was pretty careless at times with there photo mix ups.

I believe the Don Awry/Skip Krake mix up lasted 3 years.

Maybe the gang at Parkhurst was trying to keep up. image
