He probably left GAI when he realize what a third rate operation they are. At this point the GAI fate is sealed. They are a joke in cards they have lost their autograph expert and PSA is rumpored to start grading packs. Sionara

With Spence leaving and doing all of SGC cards, Gutierrez coming over to PSA from GAI was almost a no-brainer. GAI had better step it up in finding a replacement or they will be down the proverbial drain. They better make a big offer to someone like Richard Simon soon..........

Will this be the death nail for GAI? They now have no credibility in the autograph field. GAI autographs= the PRO of autographs.

Right on Hurt!! Do you think PSA/DNA had this planned the entire time? Thats why they let Spence go?

In my opinion, PSA/DNA letting Spence go is a lot like a professional sports team letting go a player who wanted too much money and was not performing at a high enough level. We've seen stories of those primadonna athletes who are always demanding more and more, but producing less and less. I think it's safe to say that Spence lost a step or two.

With PSA/DNA, it's not about the name on the back of the jersey, but the name on the front. They're the absolute best in authenticating autographs and grading cards. Losing Spence was no big deal and they replaced him with a younger prospect in Gutierrez, a prospect who was hungry for the big time and eager to grade for the love of the hobby.
