Registry Rankings

Just curious...

When I pull up the listing for Topps 1962 Baseball (basic), I see that my set ranks 19th among the Current Finest. Yet, when I pull up my own set to take a look at it, the PSA heading says that my Topps 1962 Baseball (basic) is the "23rd Current Finest Set."

Why the discrepancy?

I have seen a few older smaller sets with 10.0 rating and 100% complete. Do these sets eventually drop off or get retired or can they stay there as long as the owner wants them included? I think it would be much more incentive for people if a gem mint set fully completed set could remain for 1 year of awards and after that be included in a set hall of fame specifically for that year. For Example. 1988-89 Fleer basketball has 2 people at 10. Let the 2nd person get the award for this year and retire the first person as having a Hall of Fame set and so on as more people complete gem mint sets.

I thought that might have been it, Steve. But they both say "Current."

Did you bookmark it when you were at #23?

The URL passes a "ranking" variable, so it is easy to trick the PSA ranking display.

I added my regitry to "my favorites" in IE back when I was 26th on the registry. Today if I use the "favorites" page, it shows me still as number 26. If you click through the PSA pages does the ranking show correctly?

    Gotcha.

No, I didn't do that. Thanks for the tip, though.
