  • House of cards is best place in the area i can think of.
It is in Silver Spring they do have a good amount on vintage as well ,but with that said they ebay and do shows like the Fort Washington and Chantilly so may not have much high grade in the store.
They also love GAI so almost any graded you find would be in there holder.
They do have a good amount of raw mid to low grade however as far as shops go not much to choose from anymore ebay has kind of killed them. But if its not a far trip they have enough to perk your interest
  • There's a card shop across the street from White Flint Mall on route 355 (Wisconsin Avenue) in Bethesda, MD, just outside of Rockville, a stone's throw from D.C.. It's called Hall of Fame Cards, and it's next to a flower shop and a Subway Sandwich shop. They have some raw, some graded, some sets in binders, and tons of commons, all years; they are very nice and accommodative to requests as well. They also have a shop in Cabin John Mall in Potomac, MD, just off of Falls Road, the selection there is better, especially the raw vintage they offer; tons of game used patch/sigs/auto'd cards for sale, as well as some rare silks and vintage boxing to boot.

The aforementioned House of cards is a decent shop, they have grips of raw vintage in their inventory, and lots of modern graded as well as 80's wax.

    Hope this helps

Nothing much in the Baltimore area if you're looking for high grade or vintage wax.

  • I bought a raw '67 Yaz ($45) and a raw '67 Kaline (415) that came back 8's from PSA, as well as a '59 Whitey Ford ($30) that came back PSA 7 from the Hall of Fame Cards @ the Cabin John location about a year and a half ago. Also purchased an SCD 7.5 '70 topps Karras that came back in a PSA 8 holder upon submission. Just a few examples, there is some decent raw there...
  • ...that Kaline was $15, not 415 heh heh... bedtime.
  • Wow! I didn't know House of Cards was still around. Its been years (if its the place I'm thinking of) since I've been there, but I remember a few select trips there when I collected in the early 90's. As far as charm city and suburbs, I agree with CDs...absolutely nada in this area that I've found. I know shops always charge more, but even the modern wax at the stores I've been to has been outrageous image
Collecting: Pretty much anything and everything, but raw '62s, Ripken and anything from my boys in Steeltown take top priority.
