hockey guys....where is Zetterberg going to?

My wife is a huge Detroit fan and wants to know where is Zetterberg going? Is he coming back to the Wings? Anyone know? Rumor or not.

They already lost Datsyuk to some Russian team. Big ego for someone who hasn't score 70 pts yets.

I heard that negotiations are still on-going, I hope for our sake we do not lose him too.

  • I hope he comes back too (Zett).

Good riddance as far as Datsyuk goes. The NHL playoffs are not the place for 5'10" Euro weenies who refuse to dump the puck; although I will concede that Pavel may have really shined in the 'new' NHL.

In any case I think there are other places for the Wings to spend their money.

The Wings are in trouble. They weren't able to add any veteran stars (Osgood is not a star) and now lost their best player. Zetterberg is OK, but I'm not sold on him being tough enough to be a star. It's sad that Yzerman will have to try to carry the team again on his bum knee.

I guess I was lucky that I lost out on several high dollar Datsyuk auctions. I ended up winning a lot of rookie card auctions of a guy named Kovalchuk image

  • Looks like Zetterberg signed according to this Swedish report. Anyone speak Swedish and can translate would be helpful. From what I can gather, he's getting 19 mil from the Wings thru the 07-08 season?

    Swedish anyone?

I would agree, except that Detroit is very solid on the blue line which is going to make a HUGE difference in the new NHL. That and guys who can skate. Power forwards and big, bruising defensemen will not be as important as they were in years prior.
