What do you think this cello rack-pack is worth? (i.e. 1955 Topps cello rack-pack!)

1955 Topps cello rack-pack! Wow! I know this cello was discussed earlier, but with 13 hours to go, the reserve price has not been met.

What do you think the reserve price should be for a '55 topps cello rack-pack?

Xmas rack packs. Bad news. Run, fast.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

whatever it is , it's too high. these packs are an ok novelty but in no way will they yield high grade cards. they have marginal value but have very little in investment value , imo.. 1955's were once selling for 500-800. the packs were most likely made in the late 70's based on the staples.

The cards are mostly EX from what I understand. They were previously issued cards that were collected and repackaged into these rack packs before the holiday season of each year. Generally, they would package them with star cards showing. That example on eBay doesn't even have a star card showing, making it even less valuable. Whoever is paying $350 for that pack is going to be badly disappointed when they realize they have $50-70 worth of EX commons.

Mark Murphy had some for sale for the longest time a few years back.

One had a Clemente on the top. I promise you that they bit him in the ass!

I agree, these things are "repacks" and crap. These have been discussed here before and I think the buyer yielded most cards in the PSA 5 range.

Bad buy, bad investment, bad news.

I hope everyone had a great weekend...I did!

these packs were all made at the same time not in 1953-1963 , probably late 70's based on the staples. I received this information from the person who bought the find of them with mark murphy , probably 4 years ago now.

Was that your stuff that we talked about a while back on this issue. I remember it being discussed but just couldn't remember who? Plus, I wouldn't have brought up your name without you disclosing it anyway.
I don't even like my own "bad buy" flashbacks!
    Thanx for sharing your experience.

It's sad that newbies on ebay keep falling for this. I'll admit the first time I saw these on ebay years ago I almost bid on it myself.

This was definitely NOT a Topps pack issue and I would have to imagine this "powerseller" most probably knows this - shame on him!

I have posted on this issue a few times, especially when these come up for sale. I also bought 2 GEM graded cards that were trimmed.
