    It is quite funny how Red Sox fans and Yankee haters continue to bash the Yankees starting pitching which has been great lately but ignore Schilling's dismal season. Compared to Schilling Leiter might win the Cy Young. image

    You just couldn't let this thread die of apathy, could you?

    You keep overlooking the fact that Schilling has been injured, and recovering from this injury, all season long - and pitching in a role unfamiliar to him (closer) in an effort to do whatever he can to help his team. How would Mike Mussina fare as the Yanks closer? How about Johnson? What excuse can you give me for the pathetic state of the entire Yankee staff?

    Poor, poor baby. He is hurting your team immensely. Just like the Yankees are hurting themselves because of their inability to beat the Devil Rays. If the Red Sox don't make the playoffs it will be LARGELY do to Schilling. Likewise, for the Yankees it will be would be Tampa Bay.

    ctsoxfan, where in Connecticut do you live? I live in Fairfield Counry. There are quite a few Red Sox fans here but I thought there were more Yankee fans since we are closer to NYC than Boston. My son has a friend and he is a Yankees fan. His brother is a Red Sox fan. Last Halloween he took a formal survey while Trick or Treaing and people in our neighborhood were 2:1 Red Sox to Yankees fans. I was surprised.

    Largely due to Schilling? You want to have his children, don't you?

    Your fascination and obssession with him must be due to his showing more heart in last year's postseason than your hero Jeter or any current yankee has EVER shown, and it KILLS you that he plays for boston.

    Get over the man crush already and confess your love.
