Dem thumb tacks!

I have a 56' Topps Whitey Ford I was thinking of sending to PSA on my next submission. The card is nicely centered, the corners have minimal wear, good surface color with no stains. The only thing is a tiny pin hole at the top just below the border. My question is, would the pin hole create a qualifier for this card? Would it drop it a couple of grades? Has anybody here submitted cards like this? Curious of your grades.

    Think I'll leave it raw.
  • Yep, "Poor" Whitey. Leave that sucker ungraded or trim below the hole and submit to PRO for a 10.

    The dreaded "tack hole"

A card could be otherwise Nm and wind up with a PSA 1 due to one pin-hole.

The T3s are notorious for having those tack holes - this guy couldn't decide - if one was OK, 5 would be better!

For that reason, buying them raw is a pain since a lot of dealers don't think a pin hole is that big of a deal.
True - unless one plans on having them graded!

Agree with others to leave it raw...on my very first submission, I "neglected" to notice a pin hole in an otherwise PSA 7/8 -ish 1972 Topps Baseketball Pete Maravich card, and it came back PSA 1.

Lesson #1: Use good lighting when pre-grading cards...
