Corey Simon - got his big contract

Well Corey Simon got his $11 million dollar signing bonus and is now with the Colts. I don't wish him any ill will because he did a nice job for the Eagles. But I've seen players like this before. Overweight, no training camp and he's going to go full out on Sunday in the game for the Colts. Plus he's now set for life with that contract. My prediction, again no ill will, is that Corey Simon will get injured this season and miss games. Although he might have some good games and show flashes, he'll basically have an unproductive career for the Colts based on what they are paying him. I'm not unhappy at all that he is no longer an Eagle. We'll be more than fine, and I think better off without him.

    Corey Simon was a good player, but the Colts overpaid him.

    He'll probably have a mediocre year, and get cut by the Colts next year. Then he'll come home to the Eagles, just like Trotter and Douglas. Did anyone notice how nice the Eagles and Simon were to each other in their parting?

    Simon is a class act. He simply wanted more money than the Eagles were going to give him.

    Say what you want about the Eagles not having the elusive ring ... yet. They are the epitome of consistency, and it all boils down to managing the cap.

    Completely agree! This in my view was an extremely risking signing by a team such as the Colts who already have some very high salaried players on their team. They are almost forced to keep Simon on the team even if he doesn't work out because of the cap space. Simon of course helps their porous defense but for sure doesn't solve all the problems. But even though I think this is a very risky move, with much more downside than upside possibilities, I respect them for trying to win.

    COREY was a great player for the eagles. Sorry to see him go. He got what he wanted. He went to a decent team.. Sure he's happy. Hope that team does not come back and kick us in the AXX.
