    Yeah, close doesn't cut it though... Vick was composed, but NCST really did well on offense, but continally shot themselves in the foot. I believe 4 penalties lead from 4th down to 1st down, including 2 VT scoring drives. But the bonehead play of the week has to be fair catching the ball on the 1, which setup VT's winning TD drive after the endzone punt.

    the real question is why didn't amato go for it on 4th down instead of kicking that FG? It did nothing basically?

    Over 8 minutes still left in the game, NCST had the #1 defense last year...

    The FG meant a TD and they'd win in regulation, and if VT scored a FG, NCST would still have a shot. If they went for it (4-2) and got it they're still not guaranteed a TD as they were on the 17 yd line, if they didn't get it, they'd be in big trouble as OT would favor VT who can run better.
