Does anyone know about the 99999 Maple Leaf "Patterns"?

Is there any other difference in the design or is it just an extra nine?

Teaser from Coin World: Sells experimental .99999 fine gold pieces to cover its costs
The Royal Canadian Mint is releasing 400 pattern .99999 fine gold Maple Leaf coins, but RCM officials aren’t likely to offer that fineness on bullion coins again anytime soon.

I've heard the offering price is $1000. I'm not paying $500+ for an extra nine, if that's the only difference.
