should the miami/florida st. game be cancelled

i own a hotel about 130 miles from tallahassee and we are going to be full for a while with citizens of louisiana and mississippi who can not go home. i heard today that the hotels that were booked for the football game on monday are kicking out these same people on friday because of the game. no hotels are to be found and all shelters are full. i know football is important to a lot of people, i cancelled my room today in tallahassee and am going to cancel going to the game.

    Geez, kicking out hurricane victims this Friday would be brutual and heartless. I would hope those with reservations might be willing to drive up the day of the game, or stay somewhere else like Jacksonville.

    i have tickets on the 50 yard line but other things are more important. i have seen close to 100 miami games in person, so if i miss this one so someone can have a room for a couple of days it is a small price to pay. i will sell the tickets and give the money to the red cross.

    As I havent copped my tix...but I don't see a problem getting tix at the stadium. But ya know image

    The question was should victims be put out to accomodate football game watchers?

    tickets were sold to a gentleman who donated $750.00 dollars to the red cross. it is a win-win situation.

    they are on the visitors side and why would a fsu fan set on that side and watch fsu lose, but i guess you are used to it.

    This is a tough situation. The football game should come last, as people's lives are more important...there are homeless people who
    need these rooms, they should have first dibs.

    I do have to wonder why people went east instead of west..most of the damage was east of NO..it seems like it would be better
    to go to Texas..I-10 is a mess right now and impassable in several places. Attendance will be affected..hey maybe more students
    can get into the game..theres an idea.....FSU has had a policy for a while..they charge every student for tickets to home games..the
    only prob is that there is never enough tix.

    Doesn't matter what happens, Canes are going back with red *sses!

    the people we have in this area and in tallahassee are the ones from mississippi, it is about 2 1/2 hours to the florida line from gulfort/ bilouxi area. and they couldn't go into jackson because they were still in the path of the storm. i-10 heading east on sunday was bumper to bumper for 25 miles. we had 5,000 people stop for rooms after we were full on sunday.

    i heard a lady on the radio yesterday when i was in atlanta saying that miami should change the school name because it was offensive to the people that go thru the hurricanes.

    Boy I bet Wright is sh!tting himself with the thought of having buster davis ernie sims and aj nicholson coming after him.
    I'm driving up on game day and driving back after the game. I don't need a hotel so screw the reservations. Let's go noles! Bring it on UM!
