Anyone know if there are any members of this forum that were in that Huricane? Best wishes to anyone there that can read this. Truly sorry about your losses.

I emailed an ebay buyer telling him I was going to mail his item and he emailed me back and said he was'nt in a hurry because his home was destroyed and he's living in a shelter. I did'nt know what to say after that.
It befuddled me that he still had internet access though.
Don't know about forum members, but we lived there 20 years ago.
Set up as a dealer for the first time there (New Orleans Coin Club Show).
Many friends, but can't reach any of them.
The entire Gulf Coast Bay St Louis to Biloxi was my retail territory. Several good coins shops through there. Was looking through some mercs that I bought on the gulf coast tonight, thinking the shops that I bought those from do not exist anymore.
My uncle, a coin collector, lives in Gulfport about a mile and a half from the gulf and I haven't heard from him since the hurricane. My family got word that he and his family left on Saturday but had to leave most of their possessions behind including a 21-ft deep sea fishing boat, a full size pick-up and his entire coin collection! He won't be able to go back to his home for quite some time but I am planning on going to help him and his family clean up what is left of their home and belongings.
It is really terrible and I hope this opens people's eyes to the fact that even though we are in the good ol' USA, we are not bulletproof from man or mother nature.
We got it here in Fort Lauderdale when it was a Cat. 1. We thought we had it bad at the time because we had no power for 2 days. What we had was nothing compared to that devastation.
