I'm new-Is this a 1900 O/CC Morgan?

I have this 1900 Morgan. on the 2x2 it's in it says "1900 O/CC." However, I cannot make out a CC imprint at all on the reverse...I know it can be faint, but I just don't see it. My eye isn't trained, though, so I may be missing it.
First, a small version of the pic:

Now, the man-sized version. Dial up beware! it's like 2.5MB, but allows for a lot more detail to be seen:

Here's the obverse:

Any idea if this is really O/CC? Also, any idea on grade and value?
I'm entirely new at collecting and am trying to learn all I can.
thanks in advance!

  • There is an unusual (large C) shaped outline above the O but I think it's probably more of the toneing on the coin as if it was a CC it would be HUGE...

Don't see an O/CC coin, sorry.

Even in low grades the O/CC is very prominent....

    Just as I suspected.
Thank you, ben. you all sure are a helpful bunch! Too bad it's not O/CC, that would have been a first for me (not hard to do though, I've only been collecting a few months!)

If you're interested in morgans, then you would probably enjoy reading Q. David Bowers book "the official red book of morgan silver dollars"..... image

  • Got one more for ya. This is a supposed error, according to what is marked on the 2x2 flip. It says "doubled 1" but I see nothing of the sort. I'm starting to question my uncle's judgement with what he thinks he sees on these coins, haha.
Anyone see a doubled 1? I assume he means on the year...I just don't see it.

  • yep, looks like there could be some doubling on the 1,

have you looked at the coin through a loop ??

I sure have...I guess my eye is just too untrained, because I don't see the doubling. I'll keep studying it! Thanks for the input.

Yes, slight doubling on the '1'. Under the upper crossbar and possibly below.

Doubling on dates is common. If the doubling is known to be very rare and/or spectacular looking
to the point where it's visible the eye...then that's a super error coin.

Click here for an example of a strongly doubled date
