I had a funny experience at the Gibraltar show yesterday. I show up around noon, and head over to this dealer named Jason's table. He often has some pretty nice stuff, so I start thumbing through his 1970 basketball. We start talking when he mentions that he had a 'beautiful' '71 Munson that he sold to a guy named 'Stan' at the last show. Immediately my ears perk up, since I know the PSA 9 that just sold was put up by a guy from Michigan, so I ask him how clean the card really was. "You could have shaved with it", he says. "It was that sharp. Just a speck of fuzz in one corner."
Now I don't know if this Stan owns rockbottomsports, but if he does then this must have been the card.
Oh, and the price Jason sold it to him for? $90. A card, I might add, that would have likely been mine if I'd bothered to go to the show last month

I'd feel a hell of a lot better if I knew this wasn't the same card. I've been kicking myself all day...
As proof that I'm not (completely) senile, here's a link to an auction from when the account's location was FL.
Does Tuttle work for Superior or one of the auction houses?
Andrew Tuttle is rockbottom and cosignments on Ebay (another nice guy)
I've bought from them both, but I don't know their relationship
I have one already (i.e., I own the #1 1976 Topps set, and I have a nice PSA 9 in there!). I just thought with SMR being $145, figured in the neighborhood of "50% back of book" (i.e., $77.50), and the scan looking like a nice high end example! And like Yogi Berra might say about Thurman, "...a Munson is a Munson"!
'76 Topps #650 Thurman Munson PSA 9
P.S. I spent years buying from Superior (mostly on "lay-a-way"). Does anyone know if they still sell direct (non-auction)? Its been years since I bought from them. They were pretty cool to deal with and was able to obtain expensive items (because of "lay-a-way" that I never could have afforded otherwise!).

edit: wish I could find a '71 Munson for $ 90! LOL!
