Hello again, DH,
I posted this on the US Coin Forum, but I thought you might want to take a swing (at the question, not me ):
Has this ever happenned, and how should/would it get resolved?
A collector sends an NGC-graded coin to PCGS for crossover. The coin is initially screened in the NGC holder by graders who agree that the coin is a solid crossover. When the holder is cracked, perhaps the ability to see the coin more clearly, perhaps there is a problem on the surface orrim that is more obvious, perhaps it's just a second-look impression, but the graders now feel certain that the coin is not worthy of the grade. The coin is now unholdered. What happens next?
