Collectors Showcase - Need your opinions

One of the features that will be available with our new software is the Collectors Showcase area where you will be able to showcase your coins that don't necessarily fit into a defined set composition. This is something we did in the PSA Set Registry some time ago and it has proven to be quite popular.

What categories would you like to see in the area?

How about a Proof and Circulated showcase, like one massive type set, or maybe a modern verses classic catogory! If possible a name your set showcase were we can define our own set?

    I have three suggestions:
Cameo and/or Deep Cameo proofs - I have some spectacular low grade pieces that don't fit in a Registry set, but are sure neat to look at.

    Toned coins -

image Thanks for asking for our opinions! I would love a site that would showcase our coins. Quite a few folks have amazing Raw coins in set's that should be in a "Showcase" for all to see. I feel pictures should be mandatory. Why do coins have to be in slabs to be able to enjoy them? To be the best you have to be cutting edge and feel confident in your ability to stay at the top. Sometimes you need to take risks by accepting any and all coins, and slab's, to be able to "Showcase" a "True Collection" of coins. Thanks again.

    Bj,
Three categorys: Proof, Business strike and Gold/Silver/Plat. bullion.
  • The most popular series are Morgans and Lincolns but except for CC's they lack mint mark sets. I'd add a date set for most of the mint marks. I'd say foreign, especially gold, would be popular too, but you don't allow NGC coins.

I like the Showcase idea. I have multiple dates that are very attractive for the issue. I like to sometimes show off image

The showcase area will not necessarily be for "sets." In other words, I am looking for categories of coins that you might list that are not or will more than likely never be a set composition in the regular registry. For example, World Coins (no particular country) and Errors. Other examples might be a run of deep cameo coins in different denominations or a run of toned coins. Note that like are entire Registry, these are PCGS-graded coins.

    Thanks!

    Pedigreed Coins.

It would be great to visit showcases filled with coins from the collections of Garrett, Eliasberg, Norweb, Blay, etc.

Colonials (This would let the variety collectors showcase their NJ's by Maris number, etc.)

Early Copper 1793-1857 (This will provide another opportunity for variety collectors. Somebody please exhibit your 1793 cents by die variety.)

    Capped Bust Silver

    Seated Liberty Silver

    Errors

    Patterns, of course!

    Mr. Eureka,

Do you think you could get the likes of Tony (Brooklyn) Terranova,(The) Don Partrik or Tettenhorst to exhibit their Colonials or Early copper ?
What about trying to get Chris McCauley or Tom Reynolds to exhibit their early copper on the PCGS message boards ? Oops ! I forgot Brent Pogue.
    Good Luck !!

The collectors box of Twenty best of any type or grade of coins. And since pictures are going to be easier make them required for the Showcase set. Lost of people have said in the past that they would like something like this.

How about on the New Orleans Gold set-I would like to see the 20s in a separate cat. they are too expensive and two are way beyond most people ability to afford the 54-0 & 56-0 20s. Thanks Reece Kimes Pinnacle Collection
