That's pretty funny carew. I went through some older Topps FB cards last week and haven't been able to get Dobler's name out of my head. Then I started thinking about the name Conrad Bain who was Mr. Drummond on Diff'rent Strokes, then the theme song got stuck in my head. Then I read this thread. Then I responded to it. Then I added to this thread by typing the name Lenn Sakata.
When my brother and I were growing up, we would play Scrabble with players last names. Jamie Quirk was a good one, especially if you could get triple word score. Richie Zisk was good too.
Porfirio Altamirano Whammy Douglas Abdul Aziz Bronko Nagurski Ed Ott Dikembe Mutombo Zarko Cabarkapa William Van Landingham Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish
That is funny, there used to be a local Detroit radio staion 101 WRIF that had a morning show that would have one of the DJs doing a Dick the Bruiser voice, as if it was really him on the air, until he died then they quit doing it.
He can hang out with Dick Army and then the head of the World Doping Agency, whos name I found today... Yes, that's right. it's Dick Pound.
"Armstrong's comment came after Dick Pound, head of the World Anti-Doping Agency, said officials had received the lab results and would review them. Armstrong also said that while Pound might trust the lab that tested the samples, "I certainly don't.""
I just had to laugh.
By the way, I pulled an autograph of Conrad Dobler from this years UD Legends football. Funny I've never heard of the guy prior to pulling that auto and now I see his name twice in a few days.
LMAO Stingray! I were thinking of the Simpsons segment when Bart pranked Moe and asked for a "Jacques strap", when I had posted my initial post. On a side note, I am a HUGE Simpsons fan. So far I have the complete seasons 1-5 boxed set. I have not picked up on season 6 yet.
