Value of 71 Bench Dell?

In my large Johnny Bench collection, I have a 1971 Dell Today's (something) Team Stamp that has been laminated. The stamp itself is in superb condition which makes sense since it is laminated. What is the history behind this issue, why or when was it laminated and what is the value of such item?

  • Can you provide a scan? The reason I ask is because I have a number of these books with the stamps still in tact. Thanks

The Bench and the 23 other stamps that are found in the all-star book are very common and have little value (.50-1.00 for the stars). The book can be had regularly for around $10-15. Really, the only stamp in the entire 1971 Dell set that really has any significant value is the Ryan, which is much more difficult to find, as it is only in the Mets book, and many of them were printed poorly and the perforations don't line up well with the printed dashes around the card.

I agree that 71 Dell Johnny Bench (or anyone else) doesn't have much value unless you're a collector of oddball Bench items or you're working on a Bench Master Set in the registry. As for the lamination, I've never heard of that. It sounds like someone did it for fun.
