  • Here's what the World book has...
    Y#257 50 cents
    13.2000g., 0.8000 Silver .3395 0z. ASW Obv: Inscription:
Kuang-Hhsu Yuan-pao Rev: Side view dragon with two circles

It looks above XF not sure though.
No mintage as far as I know but is common enough to be sold by the dozens.
  • Thanks for the info.

The coin is in PCI holder as MS65.
Since this is a very common coin, I think I will pass it.

    Depends on the price.

Looks like a nice MS coin to me- I see nothing that would make me disagree with the PCI grade.

I'm certainly no expert, but it looks MS to me, and looks really nice.

    Dragons are always cool.

The coin is asked for $50, is it a good deal?

    A good deal?

Maybe not a fantastic deal, but not bad, either.

If book "UNC" price is thirty bucks, that's for your basic, generic UNC- MS63 or less. A slabbed MS65 should fetch a premium over that.

Now a PCI slab shouldn't fetch a whole lot of premium, but some of the old PCI slabs were quite conservatively graded.

Does this one have a blue label? I have never had a PCI blue label. They're a little scarce, I think. I've only seen two or three.

Or maybe it's in one of the old PCI photoslabs?

If it's on a blue label I'll buy it for $50. I love the dragon coins!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
